Cobblestone streets run along the front of this historic gem, which has been lovingly transformed into the Celtic Coffee House.
The ancient New Bedford whaling community mimics the old fishing villages of Ireland, and many an Irish immigrant worked the
old whaling vessels out of New Bedford. There are long Celtic roots that reach deep into New Bedford's history. They are a

When Philip Dwane was renovating this Federal-Greek Revival beauty at
42-44 North Water St, hailed as one of the most photographed buildings in New Bedford, he chose to combine the two retail
spaces. Bryant and Washburn ran their businessess there side by side, nearly 300 years ago. However, instead of
building the coffee house on one side and renting out the other side, Philip combined them creating one magical space,
with ample seating and two bathrooms for his patrons.
